A look at silver mealy horses around the world and on a variety of different breeds.
The mealy modifier isn’t often found with a silver dilution but it can create a stunning combination. Silver only affects black hairs (especially mane and tail), bleaching them to a lighter color. Mealy also lightens the soft spots and a light muzzle is an identifying characteristic. The examples below are on bay and brown animals, as mealy doesn’t affect true blacks and silver doesn’t affect the red pigment in chestnut coats.
